In January, I hurt my shoulder while doing burpees and push-ups in a HIIT class. This was very hard for me since I have become very active in the gym. Fortunately, the doctor gave me the option to heal this injury with physical therapy. I started working with Bill and Terry with a goal to return fully to all gym activities. They built my rehabilitation program to my activity level. We took it slow at first to make sure the nerve would tolerate activities and then increased treatment intensity and exercises. Eventually, I progressed to the point that I was able to return to my HIIT class and other exercises that I was doing prior to my injury! My shoulder rehabilitation at New West has been a great experience and has allowed me to return to the activities I love.

I am a 70-year old woman who fell last fall, overused my arms, and created a tear in my muscles in my shoulders. I started PT in January, and I have seen a marked improvement in my pain and movement. I can now reach without pain to hang up my clothes and reach behind me to turn off my bedside radio. The exercises really work. Plus, my therapist is always polite and caring. I really appreciate the care I have received. I am so happy I don’t have to live with the pain I was having.

I play collegiate baseball and had been having shoulder pain in my throwing shoulder for over a year before seeing Bill Weed at New West. I had been to physical therapy and had seen other doctors about my shoulder before coming to New West but none of them were able to solve my issues. I would have pain with basic everyday tasks and at times the throbbing wouldn’t allow me to even sleep at night. However, after I got into New West, they found what was causing my pain and Bill weed developed a program to help me get back to feeling healthy. After only a couple of months, I am thrilled to say I do not notice any pain while doing daily activities. With my activities relating to baseball, throwing has felt great and I believe I will be back to 100% once I finished my throwing program. I could not be more thankful for all of the help my physical therapist, athletic trainers, and doctors at New West has given me over the years through high school and now into college.

When I began my rehab therapy, it didn’t look like much more than eventually surgery would be the solution. Since then, Dr. Crockett and therapist have been honest and very caring about my progress and prognosis. I am now able to reach over my head and ROM is much better. Every therapy session gets better each week so looking forward to avoiding surgery. Thank you to all the therapists that had a part in my rehab. You all are very good at your jobs and care about all of your patients. A very relaxing atmosphere! I highly recommend New West Rehabilitation!
